Mary Hawley Myers was the first woman to pilot her own aircraft in 1880. Suzanne Asbury-Oliver is the world's first and only professional female skywriter. Willa Brown was the first African American female to earn a US pilot's license (1938). Each of these innovative women in aviation have a story that still resonates today. The sky is the limit for your dreams of flying. Together, let's explore the most important parts of a light airplane, study the flight instrument panel and forces that affect flight. Together we'll investigate how wind and weather affect various aircraft and perform a pre-flight inspection. Successful advancement will mean you've met one or more local female pilots to inspire you and answer your questions. Let's soar!
